- Hello! My name is Flora. I usually went by Tsukinio in the past! Currently interested in Clamp's works, Chiikawa and old movies
- 2. How long have you been making websites?
- For around 3 years
- 3. And what got you into the hobby?
- It is embarassingly because of Carrd that got me into making websites. I love how whimsical and how cute the indie web is
- 4. What kind of website are you most interested in?
- There is a broad variety of websites. But in fact, I love sites that put their own creativity onto them
- 5. What's your workflow? Do you plan your websites out thoroughly or do you come up with the design as you go along?
- I just come with the design as I go along. I used to think I need to plan for a design but now, it is just in my head

- 7. What's your favourite part about making websites?
- CSS! And putting some of my thoughts into literally anything I'm interested in
- 8. And the thing you struggle with the most?
- None currently, but probably burn-out from staring too long at my code
- 9. Do you keep the same layout on all of your pages? Or do you use different ones?
- Main pages are the same layout and some pages have the similar layout as the main pages. Only a few are different. In the end they are slightly different
- 10. How confident are you with CSS?
- I'm not that confident but not that bad at using CSS. So, I'm pretty much satisfied
- 11. Do you know how to correctly use <dl>?
- Nope! I don't even know what that tag means xD, though this questionnaire use it
- 12. What is your favourite HTML element?
- Might be
- 13. If you're making a new web page from scratch, what is the first thing you do?
- Finding ideas for that page first!
- 14. Do you know JavaScript?
- I know quite a bit. I have been improving my Javascript skill lately, but sometimes I still rely on Google
- 15. How about PHP?
- I have no idea how to use PHP, but I once experienced editing it
- 16. Does your website have a theme that you stick to?
- Yes! It is like a newspaper theme? Pretty much simplistic but still complex enough. I have no idea how to describe, yet it gives calm and sentimental vibe overall
- 17. Are you more focused on content or design?
- Design! I still want to improve my content more
- 18. Do you own a domain name? If not, would you ever want to?
- I don't. I would like to have a domain though. Maybe it would be floralchai.net
- 19. What do you think of nostalgia-focused or "retro" websites?
- They are pretty cool
- 20. Is your HTML valid? Do you even check?
- Maybe it is valid but not really accessible. I'm too lazy to check if it is valid or not
- 21. What are your opinion on buttons and banners?
- They look so fun! Love them
- 22. What do you think of button walls in particular?
- Webmasters should use stop/start animation code for them. Overall, they are still cool
- 23. If you started over again, would you make something similar or completely different?
- Maybe something similar for now
- 24. Are you envious of other people's websites?
- I'm fine, no envious at all. Most people's websites are pretty amazing
- 25. What text editor do you use?
- VSCodium! Very convenient and highly recommended
- 26. Why do you use that one?
- Friends recommended it to me
- 27. Do you host your image files on your web server, or on another host?
- On my web server/host
- 28. This might not be relevant to you, but what's your opinion on the Neocities vs. Nekoweb debate?
- They have their own pros and cons. I once moved to Nekoweb, but Neocities is more accessible so I moved back. Also, deploy to neocities is super convenient. Nekoweb has the same thing, buuut it is not configurable for me
- 29. How much server space would you estimate your main website takes up?
- Around 5% of Neocities's 1GB
- 30. Do you keep local backups of your files?
- Yes. It is on my laptop
- 31. Do you prefer simple or highly visual websites?
- Simple!
- 32. Do you stick to certain colours? Do you do that on purpose, or is it your subconscious?
- Maybe, pastel colours specifically. Mostly I do that on my subconscious
- 33. Have you ever thought about quitting? Why?
- I used to. It is because highschool drained my energy and the constant overstimulating. I try to go on a calmer approach now
- 34. Do you have many webmaster friends, or is it a solitary hobby?
- I have quite a few
- 35. Do people in your real life know about your website?
- Yes!! They are my besties that were in the same class and a college bestie this year!
- 36. Do you update your website very often? How often is "very often"?
- Not really but it is moderate. Around 3-4 times a month
- 37. And the overall design, do you change that much? Why or why not?
- I changed it a lot in the past. Overall, the designs constantly changing and sometimes my creativity brain juice runs out
- 38. Is your website more you-focused, hobby-focused, or outside world-focused?
- Me-focused and outside world-focused!
- 39. Do you do web design professionally?
- I do it by hands and using no fancy plugins, or programmer things, so nope
- 40. If not, would you like to? And if you're comfortable answering, what do you do for work?
- Not sure about that and I don't have a job yet (unemployed)
- 41. Do you communicate with people by email very much?
- I love email! Pretty much sometimes
- 42. Some people reject social media and use websites as a replacement. Do you keep social media outside of your website?
- I'm not fully use website as replacement actually! I'm still using Facebook as my main social to connect with my irls and Facebook is the only social media I use. I do separate my socials and site though. I also have Pinterest (set on private) but wonder if it counts cause it have follow feature and all
- 43. How about instant messengers? Do you use a mainstream one like Discord or Telegram? Or something like Matrix? Do you avoid them?
- I use Discord for online friends and Messenger for irls!
- 44. Do you listen to music while you work on websites? If so, what kinds of artists?
- Nope! But I like listen to Twenty One Pilot, Avril Lavigne, Paramore, Britney Spears, Fujii Kaze, Jpop
- 45. Do you keep everything you make on one website, or do you have more than one?
- Currently, I only have one! But there is a upcoming webring, so it will be two soon!
- 46. On a similar note, do you keep to one topic on your site, or many?
- Many topic for the fun Cx
- 47. Do you present your real self, or at least try? Or do you construct a persona on purpose?
- Mostly my inner real self. I don't have a persona but I always not try to act out of character
- 48. Have you ever made a good friend thanks to your website?
- Yes, a lot of time
- 49. Are you happy with the way HTML and CSS currently work?
- It is fine for now. Scrollbar could be improved for browser-wide though
- 50. What are practices that you think people should avoid?
- Text on busy background image container. It looks really hard to look!
- 51. What about under-utilised practices, or things you think people should do more?
- Accessibility and responsiveness
- 52. Do you use a lot of semantic HTML? Or are you guilty of generic structure?
- I use a neutral amount of semantic HTML, I guess enough semantic elements like nav, header, section, footer, and main
- 53. Do you consider different browsers?
- Not really. I only stick to one browser. I used to use Firefox (it is great) but my peeves moved back to Google
- 54. Speaking of, what's your preferred browser? Convince your readers why they should use it.
- Google, because of preference. I wouldn't recommend people to use the same browser as me though
- 55. And what OS are you on?
- Windows!
- 56. Do you have a strong opinion on that, or do you just happen to use it?
- Just happen to use it! No specific reason
- 57. Are your websites mobile-friendly?
- Yesss! I tested on my phone already
- 58. What are your thoughts on autoplay?
- I would mute them instantly
- 59. What are your thoughts on webrings? Are you in any?
- Fun and expressive. Currently I'm only in one webring right now
- 60. Do you have any web shrines? What do you like to see in that sort of page?
- I have a Mean Girls shrine. Thoughts is the main thing I would like to see from web shrines
- 61. Are your websites "cliche", in your opinion?
- Probably not?
- 62. What is your ideal website? Are you striving for that, or for something else?
- A website with creativity and deep thought writings but also filled with whimsical fun. I'm striving for both of that
- 63. Are you an artist? Do you draw or design your own assets?
- I'm not an artist. I'm able to draw but don't have a drawing tablet and I limited my phone usage. I would like to draw my own assets though. In the end, I could only edit my assets or find those assets F2U somewhere
- 64. What are your favourite resource sites?
- Foollovers and Fancyparts!
- 65. Is there a habit you just can't get away from no matter how hard you try?
- Staring at my screen → open code editor → open another browser tab → open around 7 tabs → close windows → repeat
- 66. What's your biggest advice for a new webmaster?
- I'm bad of giving advice, can't think of any right now! You could try google/search your HTML and CSS question more specifically
- 67. Do you keep all your styling in CSS? Or do you hard-code some?
- I sometimes put all my CSS in a separate file but also put them all-in-one with HTML. You could view my code if you F12, I'm not gatekeeping or anything
- 68. What do you think of frameset layouts?
- Never heard of them before! From what I gathered, they do not adapt well to different screen sizes
- 69. How about table-based layouts?
- They looks retro! But I would rate them higher if most of them are responsive
- 70. Do you subscribe to the ideas of "one-column", "two-column" and "three-column" layouts? Do you use any of these?
- Maybe, I love to use one-column and two-column layouts more but I rarely use them. Three-column is not my thing
- 71. Do you spend longer on the HTML or the CSS?
- CSS!
- 72. Have you ever made a page with no CSS? It's useful for your thoughts.
- Haven't before! But I will give it a try!
- 73. Do you ever find yourself making layouts with nothing to put on them? Or do you only make layouts when the need arises?
- When my needs arise of course!
- 74. Would you consider yourself a beginner? Or advanced? Somewhere in the middle?
- Around middle and advanced!
- 75. Do you have a habit of looking at the source code of websites you visit?
- Not really, but if I want to see how they made their web look like that then I would sample from them. And attempt with my own code
- 76. How did YOU learn how to make websites?
- Checking the W3wschools website and google search my questions
- 77. Do you ever force elements to do things they're not supposed to?
- Maybe not! I'm not really sure about it though
- 78. Thoughts on floating elements?
- They look cute for decorations
- 79. When you're sizing stuff, what do you use first? Do you use px, em, %, or something else?
- For the fonts I use "rem", "px" for width, "%" for max-width. So I use them depend on the situation
- 80. Do you have a favourite font?
- Source Serif 4! And DDLC fonts!
- 81. Would you run a website with another person? How would that work?
- I would love to! Maybe if I own another website I would let them be the co-manager!
- 82. Do you surf the Web to find new personal websites very often?
- More often than working on my site
- 83. Do you bookmark other people's websites? How would you feel knowing someone else bookmarked yours?
- I do sometimes. If they bookmarked mine then it is my pleasure c:
- 84. What do you want people to be most impressed with when they see your website?
- The media I like and my gallery. But the main thing I want people to see is how I'm and not of my design.
- 85. Are you interested in technology outside of websites? Do you collect?
- I'm kinda
- 86. How often and for how long are you online?
- I'm a home-person so I would criticize myself as chronically online. One day on the web, I surf for around 3 hours. I'm not on socials that much (rarely use them). I also don't chat much nowadays. For 1 year I have been keeping a low-profile of online relationships now and only keep a small friend group of around 20 people
- 87. When it comes to your website, who is your target audience?
- I don't have a specific audience so maybe anyone
- 88. Have you ever been interested in XHTML?
- Nope!
- 89. Do you program in general? Have you ever written a program for use with or on your website, not counting simple JavaScript?
- No, I never written a program before! Only using some javascript for interative pages
- 90. Speaking of programs that help you make websites, what do you think of static site generators (SSGs)? Have you ever used one?
- I used one before for my old site! It is quite nice but still got a lot of confusion
- 91. Do you keep a hitcounter? Why or why not?
- Yes! Their designs are pretty
- 92. Do you frequent forums? Which ones?
- I don't use any forums actually
- 93. Do you write your page content directly into the editor, or do you prepare it elsewhere, like a text document or a Word document?
- I write my writings into Google Docs then type HTML/CSS on the editor later on
- 94. Do you think you appear cool to others? A more accurate answer now: do other people ever say you're cool?
- Not sure about that
- 95. Are you embarrassed of your old work? Have you ever deleted everything out of shame?
- Never before, but I deleted out of stress and not interested in the old designs anymore. I don't plan to archive them though
- 96. Would you close down your website if you couldn't update it, or would you leave an archive?
- If I couldn't update it. I would leave a small and short announcement and just leave it there as it is. I think would never close down my websites, just rebranding it. I move URL lot of time though and I once closed down an URL of mine
- 97. Do you reveal a lot about yourself on your website? Or are you more secretive?
- I don't like blabbering too much about myself! Sometimes I keep things as secret for personal reasons. Sharing too much can be scary sometimes
- 98. Are you willing to reveal who your best online friend is, and/or if they have a website?
- I do!
- 99. And do you optimise the images on your website?
